This Issue

Writing is a powerful weapon in difficult times. Kate Adams describes some of her experience working with refugees - trying to understand how creativity can keep a person sane, how poetry can give us something tangible in our attempts to engage with those who have suffered and been displaced. This edition is split. Alongside a series of poems that in their own way deal with issues of place and identity (with a focus on US poets), half of this magazine is dedicated to the writing of dispossessed people and those who have worked closely with them in association with Refugee Week in the UK.
